About the Role Please note: This is a term position starting as soon as possible and ending September 2027, with a possibility of extension if the child continues to require services. This will/can be a dual role for an FSCD Support Educator and a Casual (on-call) Support Educator for the successful candidate to be able to pick up additional hours through the Casual Educator portion of this role based on the centre's staffing needs. Shifts will be: School Days - 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm Monday, Tuesday and Friday (without a break). Non-School Days/PD Days/Summer - 10:00 am - 5:00 pm (30 minute unpaid break). There should be ample opportunity for the successful candidate to pick up additions shifts through the Casual Educator portion of this position. We are seeking an individual who possesses a strong understanding of child development, exceptional engagement skills, and a dedication to fostering positive relationships with both children and colleagues. The ideal candidate will be dependable, adaptable, fluent in English, and exhibit outstanding communication, multitasking abilities, and experience with children with varied abilities. Prior experience is advantageous, and candidates must possess Alberta Child Care certification levels 1, along with current criminal record check (with vulnerable sector search) and first aid certification. Key Responsibilities Providing one-on-one support for a specific child within the childcare program. Creating and implementing engaging programming tailored to the interests and needs of the child. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety within the environment. Leading and supporting the child in integrated learning and recreational activities. Actively supervising and engaging with the child while ensuring their well-being. Cultivating positive relationships with the child, their family, and colleagues. Participating in professional development initiatives. Adhering to Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Regulations and Active Start's policies and procedures to ensure quality care. Qualifications Must possess Alberta Child Care certification levels 1 Proven experience as an Educator or Teacher Prior experience working with children with disability is a strong asset Strong communication and interpersonal skills Familiarity with educational technology and tools Certification in teaching is a plus Why Join Active Start? Exigences

Candidates must possess an Alberta Child Care certification level 1, a current criminal record check with a vulnerable sector search, and first aid certification. Prior experience working with children with disabilities is considered a strong asset.
