Your Opportunity: Description: As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization. Classification: Licensed Practical Nurse Union: AUPE AUX Unit and Program: KEC 3D GIM Primary Location: U of A Hospital Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 1.00 Posting End Date: 24-AUG-2026 Temporary Employee Class: Temp F/T Benefits Date Available: 03-SEP-2026 Temporary End Date: 01-JUN-2027 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 2 Shifts per cycle: 10 Shift Pattern: Days Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $33.16 Maximum Salary: $43.42 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications: Previous LPN experience within the last 2 years. Previous ambulatory/outpatient care experience within the last 3 years. Connect Care experience. Previous experience working in a busy ambulatory/outpatient clinic environment. Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple competing demands and changing priorities within a fast-paced clinic setting. Ability to provide hands-on patient care within the scope of the LPN role, including assisting with patient positioning, mobility and transfers as required. Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 10–15 kg as required for patient care and clinic activities. Ability to frequently stand, walk and move throughout the clinic during the workday. Ability to perform routine clinical activities requiring bending, reaching, twisting and sustained periods of standing and walking. Ability to safely assist patients with mobility needs, including bariatric patients, within the ambulatory clinic environment. Strong organizational, communication and prioritization skills are required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with patient teaching and education. Experience assisting physicians with minor procedures. Previous experience in General Internal Medicine or a specialty ambulatory clinic. Experience working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary ambulatory care team. Familiarity with outpatient clinic workflows and patient flow.

Exigences
Requires completion of an accredited practical nurse program and active registration with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta. Candidates must have BCLS-HCP certification and recent experience in LPN and ambulatory/outpatient care.
