Your Opportunity: Reporting to the Manager of ER, the Licensed Practical Nurse performs a variety of nursing duties in a fast-paced, high stress environment. The successful candidate will administer safe and effective nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and nursing care standards. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. The shift hours for this position are 07:30 – 19:45 and 19:30 – 07:45. Description: As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization. Classification: Licensed Practical Nurse Union: AUPE AUX Unit and Program: Emergency Primary Location: Northeast Community Health Ctr Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 0.71 Posting End Date: 14-SEP-2026 Temporary Employee Class: Temporary Part Time Date Available: 24-SEP-2026 Temporary End Date: 28-FEB-2027 Hours per Shift: 11.08 Length of Shift in weeks: 12 Shifts per cycle: 30 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $33.16 Maximum Salary: $43.42 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications: Minimum 3 years recent acute care experience. Minimum 2 years recent ER experience. Connect Care Experience. Preferred Qualifications: Recent 2 years ER experience.
