Your Opportunity: Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in healthcare? As a Pharmacy Assistant at Central Production Pharmacy, you’ll play a key role in ensuring patients across Alberta receive safe, timely, and effective medication. This is a rewarding opportunity to support patient care while contributing to pharmacy operations in a fast paced, collaborative environment. Working under the supervision of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, you will assist with medication repackaging, distribution, delivery, and inventory management. Daily tasks include selecting and labeling medications, operating repackaging equipment, replenishing patient specific carts and ward stock, and performing ordering and receiving duties. You’ll use automated and computerized systems to support accuracy and efficiency. Strong verbal and written English communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to confidentiality and teamwork are essential. You will also mentor and train other Pharmacy Assistants, new staff, and students. The ideal candidate demonstrates accuracy, professionalism, reliability, and the ability to succeed in a dynamic and continually evolving environment. You must be able to follow instructions, work independently and collaboratively, and adapt to changing workflows and technologies. Physical demands include visual acuity, keyboarding, heavy lifting and grip strength, twisting, crouching, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and extended periods of standing and walking. Classification: Pharmacy Assistant Union: AUPE GSS Unit and Program: Pharmacy Primary Location: Pharmacy Central Production Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 1.00 Posting End Date: 02-SEP-2026 Temporary Employee Class: Temp F/T Benefits Date Available: 14-SEP-2026 Temporary End Date: 14-SEP-2027 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 4 Shifts per cycle: 20 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $24.65 Maximum Salary: $28.30 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications: Graduate of recognized pharmacy assistant program. A minimum of 1 year of recent retail or hospital pharmacy experience (within the last 2 years). Physical requirements include lifting, up to 30 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally, plus frequent pushing, pulling, and extended standing or sitting.
