Company Description Amanda Neves Therapy is a team of well experienced therapists who collaborate with clients as they navigate life transitions and relationships, supporting them to thrive with confidence and authenticity. The practice focuses on alleviating mental health challenges and strengthening relationships by tailoring therapeutic approaches to each individual and couple. Using an attachment-based and trauma-informed lens, the team helps clients untangle inner conflict and move toward greater emotional clarity. The environment emphasizes strong, healthy connections and offers a supportive, client-centered space for both practitioners and the clients they serve. Role Description This is primarily an in person, contract role for a Couples Therapist in Vaughan, Ontario. The therapist (RSW or RP/RPQ) will provide individual and couples sessions focused on relationship issues, communication, intimacy, and conflict resolution, using evidence-based and attachment-informed approaches, particularly using emotionally focused therapy and other couples therapy modalities. Day-to-day tasks include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and coordinating care with other providers when appropriate. The role also involves participating in case consultations, engaging in regular supervision or peer support, and upholding ethical and professional standards of practice. The therapist will collaborate closely with the wider team to ensure consistent, high-quality client care in a virtual environment. Qualifications Active registration and good standing with a relevant regulatory body (e.g., RSW or RP/RPQ), with authorization to provide psychotherapy services. Demonstrated experience in couples therapy, including skills in communication work, conflict resolution, and relationship-focused interventions. Training and competence in attachment-based and trauma-informed approaches; familiarity with modalities such as EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), Gottman Method, or similar frameworks is an asset. Strong assessment, case formulation, and treatment planning skills, with the ability to tailor interventions to diverse clients and relationship structures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including clear clinical documentation and collaborative communication with colleagues. Comfort and proficiency with telehealth platforms, electronic record systems, and delivering therapy remotely in a confidential, secure manner. Commitment to anti-oppressive, inclusive, and culturally responsive practice, working respectfully with clients of all genders, identities, and backgrounds. Ability to work independently, manage a flexible caseload, and maintain appropriate professional boundaries and self-care practices. Master’s degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, or a related field preferred; relevant supervised clinical experience required.
