THE OPPORTUNITY: Our Engineering teams are currently seeking candidates for multiple 2027 Summer Student positions across our Development, Facilities, and Environmental Engineering groups. These 4-month work terms will commence in May 2027 and are based in Calgary with possible travel to field locations on occasion. These dynamic positions will provide the successful candidates with an excellent opportunity to continue to learn about the western Canadian oil & gas industry as well as further develop their petroleum engineering skills. RESPONSIBILITIES: Development Work with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate and contribute to technical projects that support ARC’s development and growth strategy Support Development Engineers with production and reservoir analysis to guide development planning and optimization Perform economic evaluations and project screening to support capital allocation and investment decisions Analyze reservoir depletion impacts to improve well performance predictions and identify mitigation opportunities Contribute to data analytic projects to track, report, and visualize Development Engineering KPIs and benchmarking Research and help evaluate new technology and cost reduction initiatives applicable to ARC’s operations Participate in weekly team meetings, with possible travel to ARC’s field locations as required Facilities Assist Facilities Engineers with project management controls related to large and small capital projects Assist with deign reviews, field visits, and liaison with external contract engineering firms Assist with the evaluation and procurement of equipment or services Lead minor projects related to asset integrity, facility maintenance, and process optimization Assist with development of facility engineering standards, typical designs, and best practices related to pipeline and facility installations Environmental Assist team with identification, scoping, review, and execution of emission reduction projects Help develop project funding submissions and reporting requirements, including emissions quantification Contribute towards the development of data analytic projects Develop dashboards and presentations on a variety of datasets and topics Support evaluation of innovative GHG emissions technologies Support inventory compilation to support ARC’s emissions quantification processes including equipment inventories, production accounting data, etc. Travel to ARC’s field locations as required WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC: These positions are ideally suited for third or fourth year students enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus in Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical, or a related degree and are returning to school the following term Experience with leading and contributing to technical projects; Including scheduling, delegation, and management of activities Strong computer and data analysis skills are considered an asset Intermediate MS Office/365 skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and prior experience with industry related software and visualization tools is considered an asset Exceptional written and oral communication skills and can develop positive working relationships with all levels of the organization Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities at the same time in a dynamic environment Petroleum industry related experience will be considered an asset REWARDING OPPORTUNITY: An opportunity to be part of delivering responsible energy by developing and growing your career with us Working collaboratively with, and learning from some of the most talented and experienced people in our industry A culture of caring and high performance Focus on health and well-being An environment where all individuals are treated fairly and respectfully, have equal access to opportunities and resources, feel a sense of belonging, and can contribute fully to the organization’s success Meaningful work that makes a difference in the Canadian energy industry We are pleased to share that Shell’s acquisition of ARC Resources Ltd. has now officially closed.
