26-068-PRIMARY CARE PARAMEDIC- ATHABASCA- TEMPORARY AND PERMANENT FULL TIME- COREFLEX INCENTIVE OFFERED Job Posting: 26-068 Position: Primary Care Paramedic Location: Athabasca, Alberta Position Types: Full-Time and Temporary Full-Time (3–12 months) Shift Pattern: Four (4) days on, followed by four (4) days off Since 1977, Associated Ambulance has been dedicated to providing emergency medical services across Alberta. With a presence in 24 communities, we are the largest ambulance service contracted by Alberta Health Services. Our mission is to deliver the highest quality mobile healthcare to those in need, ensuring patient safety and care excellence. Position Overview Associated Ambulance is currently seeking qualified Primary Care Paramedics (PCP) to join our team at the Athabasca Station. This permanent full-time position offers a predictable and balanced shift schedule of four days on, followed by four days off. As an PCP with Associated Ambulance, you will be an essential part of our emergency medical response team, providing vital pre-hospital care and life-saving interventions to the community. Key Responsibilities Assess patient conditions to determine the extent of injury or illness and immediate care requirements. Administer pre-hospital emergency medical care, including patient stabilization for ambulance transportation. Monitor vital signs, assess blood glucose levels, and perform other diagnostic procedures. Work collaboratively with emergency medical personnel, emergency communications officers, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess the following: Valid PCP Practice Permit – Meets all requirements for EMS practice in Alberta. Alberta Class IV Driver’s License – Current and valid. Successful F.A.R.E Certification Mandatory and Required Training – Up to date on all required certifications, including: Medical Communications Protocol (MCP) Professional Driver Improvement Course (PDIC) Core Competencies Strong commitment to quality patient care, safety, and professionalism, aligning with Associated Ambulance’s core values. Ability to work effectively within an interprofessional healthcare team. Ability to remain calm and perform efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations.
