Parent Support Worker - Punjabi About Us The Autism Support Network (ASN) provides families, caregivers, educators, and professionals with access to practical, evidence-based autism information, support, and learning opportunities. We are a trusted network of families and professionals dedicated to helping families better understand autism services, including Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), and navigate available supports. We work to strengthen communities across British Columbia by fostering local connections and creating opportunities for families to learn from and support one another. The Opportunity ASN is seeking a part-time Parent Support Worker to help support and connect families within the Punjabi-speaking community. This role is ideal for someone who has lived experience supporting and advocating for an autistic family member and who is passionate about helping other families navigate autism services and supports. Qualifications The successful candidate will: Be a parent, family member, or caregiver of an autistic individual. Have at least two years of experience participating in a home-based ABA program supervised by a qualified BCBA. Understand and support ASN's mission and values. Be fluent in spoken and written English and Punjabi. Additional languages are an asset. Enjoy supporting, encouraging, and empowering other families. Have access to a computer with a webcam and reliable internet service. Have reliable transportation and be able to travel to our Richmond office. Be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Responsibilities Respond to phone calls and emails from families seeking autism-related information and support. Translate ASN resources into Punjabi. Moderate and support Punjabi-language social media communities. Conduct outreach and build relationships within the Punjabi-speaking community. Support ASN's administrative and operational activities. Assist with social media and communications initiatives. Over time, develop and facilitate virtual support groups and educational presentations in Punjabi. Position Details Part-time: approximately 10 hours per week to start. Flexible schedule. Contract position with competitive compensation. A minimum of one six-hour day per week will be worked from ASN's office at the Pacific Autism Family Network Centre in Richmond or the Chilliwack office.
