**School District No. 20 (Kootenay-Columbia)** **Counsellor Vacancy** **2026-2027** Posting Date: July 7, 2026 **Competition # 26-T-41** **0.6 FTE District Elementary Counsellor** **Temporary: September 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027**** __ ** **Qualifications:** * BC Certification with Bachelor of Education Degree * Master's Degree in Counselling * Experience in Cognitive-Theory-Based Counselling with an understanding of Trauma Informed Practice * Previous successful experience in Counselling required * Must be familiar with Inter-ministerial social agency protocols * Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills * Must be experienced at working in a collaborative team setting * Training in Suicide Risk Assessment and care plans * An understanding of counselling supports through a Response to Intervention lens **Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to:** * Maintain therapy caseloads * Consult with school-based teams, parents, district staff, and community agencies * Provide/facilitate professional development opportunities for School District No. 20 employees * Active member of District Itinerant Team and District Counselling Team. **Salary and Benefits:** * The annual salary for this position ranges from $64,012 to $118,237, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
