About the role Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary, full-time, Project Manager to join the Business Product Management team. The work of a Project Manager is integral to Canadian Blood Services’ role as Canada’s Biological Lifeline. Reporting to the Associate Director, Business Product Management, you will lead a complex digital transformation initiative focused on the modernization of critical a business system that supports planning, scheduling, operations, and stakeholder services across Canadian Blood Services. You will be responsible for the planning, management, design, development, and implementation of the project that strengthens our digital capabilities, improves business continuity, reduces operational risk, and enable future business transformation. The role will work closely with Collections, Supply Chain and Donor business leaders, Digital Solutions & Technology, external partners, subject matter experts, and vendors to deliver strategic outcomes while helping define the future vision and roadmap for key enterprise platforms. The initiative includes modernization of the Event Scheduling System (ESS), a critical business platform supporting collection planning, scheduling, logistics, and donor operations, while also developing future business requirements and recommendations for ongoing transformation. Formula for Success Leveraging your project management experience, you will lead or participate in the development of project business cases for complex, multi-year projects. Utilizing your collaboration skills, you will work with the project team and steering committee to recruit project team members, while leveraging your leadership and engagement skills to oversee, support and direct project team members in staying engaged with the plan and effectively accomplishing the goals and objectives of the project. Drawing on your project leadership experience, you will monitor and document the overall project plan and budget, ensuring the project meets timelines, targets and expectations based on the established parameters, providing regular project status updates to all key partners on behalf of the project team. Utilizing your communication, teamwork skills, and project experience, you will coordinate the activities of the project team, steering committee, internal and external partners to develop the project plan, define deliverables, identify roles and responsibilities, establish timelines and communications, training strategies, implementation and evaluation strategies, risk management, costs, transition, and close-out plans. Drawing on your decision-making expertise, you will make decisions that impact project deliverables, costs, and timelines, which will impact other business areas. Using your risk management expertise, identify, monitor, and mitigate substantial risks, with implications beyond the project. Desired Education & Skills Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, information systems or project management. A minimum of 5+ years with ERP systems and interoperability with other information systems. A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in project management. A minimum of 7-10 years’ experience working in a variety of business areas with a strong IT or systems focus. Certification in Project Management, such as the PRINCE2, Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset. Evidence of ongoing professional development in program or project management and leadership skills is required. Proficiency with related software tools including Microsoft project professional, MSPO is an asset. General management experience including accountability for budgets and people. Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret business needs, and develop integrated, innovative solutions. Ability to create a cross-functional team environment that promotes high performance. Ability to deal with senior management and external stakeholders on highly complex or sensitive issues. What We Offer You Payment in lieu for benefits and vacation. Annual performance award up to 8%.
