Our Engineering Department is looking for an auxiliary Labourer to work in the Dispatch division. This is important maintenance work that ensures Laurel Street Works Yard is kept in tip-top shape. This role will be performing routine manual work involving considerable physical effort and agility in the collection and disposal of garbage, removal of debris, and the sweeping and cleaning of Laurel Street Works Yard. Performs related work as required.Qualifications include up to high school graduation or an equivalent combination of training and experience. In this role, you will work outside in all weather conditions. The position requires knowledge and skill in the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in maintenance work such as power washer and hand tools for repairs and maintenance. This position involves heavy physical work in all weather conditions and the ability to maintain a high standard of work. Other desired attributes include the ability to understand and effectively carry out simple oral instructions, initiative and a safety mindset.Pay Rate: $35.25 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefitsLocation: Laurel Street Works YardHours of work: This is an auxiliary position, hours and shifts are based on operational requirements and do not provide guaranteed hours of work, which may include on-call shifts.
