Company Description Mission is located on the unceded, ancestral, and shared territory of the Stó:lō Peoples, specifically on Leq’á:mel, Semá:th, Máthexwi, Kwantlen, Sq’éwlets, and Katzie traditional territories in the lower mainland of BC. Nestled on the southern coastal mountain slopes overlooking the lush Fraser River Valley, Mission is a rapidly growing and dynamic community of approximately 41,500 residents, 20 kilometers north of the US border and 70 kilometers east of Vancouver. Although Mission is part of a broader metropolitan area, it still maintains its distinct and welcoming small-town flavor. Job Description The City of Mission’s Parks, Recreation & Culture Department is seeking a new seasonal skate patrol to work from September 2026 until March 2027. A typical seasonal skate patrol employee works yearly from September to March. As a skate patrol, you will be responsible for supervision of public activities to ensure safety practices are followed during public skating times at the municipal arena. You will assist skaters when needed, treat minor injuries and perform limited janitorial duties. As the ideal candidate, you will be able to skate well and for extended periods of time. You will have the ability to be calm, courteous, and tactful in a variety of demanding situations and be able to enforce safety rules to ensure safe conditions for public skaters. Qualifications You must be a minimum of 16 years of age and have completed Grade 10. Standard First Aid Level 1 certification or a recognized equivalent is required. The current hourly rate for this seasonal CUPE position is $28.79 plus 12.4% in lieu of benefits. There will be one to two shifts per week which will include evenings and weekends. Additional Information This position will be required to work Tuesday evenings. Exigences
