Summary of Position Reporting to the project Foreman, this position will assist all field personnel to perform all water and sewer activities in a safe and efficient manner. Role and Responsibilities Shoot grade with transit Read and interpret drawings Assist in the construction and installation of various shoring systems Perform manual and labour-intensive tasks as assigned Guide excavator and take shots to achieve desired depth of excavation Assist Foreman with daily paperwork, organizing of crew/subcontractors Instruct and guide crew on job task & mentor inexperienced workers Direct traffic as required Load and unload tools, materials and equipment Cut & bevel pipe Operate industrial equipment and hand tools Direct and signal heavy equipment operators Other duties as assigned Install and repair a variety of water and sewer lines Qualifications, Training and Education Class 5 driver’s license (preferred) CSTS 2020 Confined Space Monitor/Entry & Rescue Rigging & Hoisting (asset) Fall Protection Crane Signals course/experience (asset) Working Conditions Physically demanding, handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, kneeling, attention to detail, standing for extended periods, manual lifting and lowering. The work environment is dusty, noisy, outdoors, Underground, and potentially working in confined space/restricted space

Assist field personnel in performing water and sewer activities safely and efficiently while reporting to the project Foreman. Responsibilities include shooting grades, interpreting drawings, guiding excavators, and mentoring inexperienced workers.

Requires a Class 5 driver's license and certifications in CSTS 2020, Confined Space Monitor/Entry & Rescue, and Fall Protection. Candidates should be capable of performing physically demanding labor in outdoor and underground environments.
