In partnership with the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux du Québec, the CBHSSJB manages and organizes health and social services across the 9 communities of Eeyou Istchee (Region 18): Chisasibi, Eastmain, Mistissini, Nemaska, Oujé-Bougoumou, Waskaganish, Waswanipi, Wemindji, and Whapmagoostui. The CBHSSJB operates a 29-bed hospital in Chisasibi, and in each community, a Miyupimaatisiiun Community Centre (CMC), comparable to the CLSCs found elsewhere in Québec.
