Elk Valley Resources (EVR) operates four steelmaking coal mines that employ over 5,000 people in the Elk Valley of British Columbia. EVR is proud to be part of the Glencore Group, contributing to a global portfolio of operations with a history that dates back more than 100 years in Canada. \n In this role you will: * Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies * Participate in, and supervise, monitoring and other sampling programs to support regulatory commitments and requirements. * Support management of data quality from field collection to reporting. This includes supporting field teams in data naming procedures and working closely with multiple laboratories to confirm accurate reports for upload to database. * Carry out environmental data entry, review, and management in our EQuIS database * Participate in field investigations, inspections, and audits * Provide technical, administrative, and project management support, as well as contractor supervision * Develop and review environmental health and safety documents and protection plans Adhere to environmental procedures and standardized protocols Requirements: * Minimum two years of experience in the field of environmental compliance or monitoring * Diploma or Degree in Environmental Studies, Earth Sciences (Biology, Geography, Geology, Forestry, Agriculture), or Natural Resource field * Experience with environmental data management software (GIS/EQuIS) is an asset * Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite® * Familiarity with provincial and federal environmental legislation an asset. * Ability to be adaptable and to work efficiently and independently in outdoor remote locations, in inclement weather conditions * Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent \n The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
