Job Description The General Foreperson plays a critical leadership role in overseeing day-to-day field operations and ensuring the safe, efficient, and successful execution of work activities across FLINT projects. Reporting to the Superintendent, this position is responsible for leading crews, coordinating resources, supporting quality execution, and maintaining compliance with client requirements, regulatory standards, and FLINT policies and procedures. Working collaboratively with project leadership, clients, forepersons, tradespeople, quality personnel, and HSE teams, the General Foreperson helps drive operational excellence while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership capabilities, effective communication skills, sound decision-making, and a proactive approach to managing field operations in dynamic industrial environments. What would you be doing? Leadership & Crew Management Lead and support field operations by: Providing day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and coaching to forepersons and crews. Setting clear expectations and fostering a positive, productive work environment. Promoting professionalism, accountability, and teamwork across the workforce. Recognizing, addressing, and resolving workplace issues and concerns. Assessing personnel fitness for duty and monitoring daily field activities. Operational Planning & Execution Coordinate and oversee project execution by: Walking down work scopes with clients and FLINT leadership before and after work execution. Monitoring production, work progress, and project changes. Requesting and coordinating manpower requirements with the Superintendent. Supporting daily operations and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements. Monitoring radio communications and conducting field observations to maintain operational awareness. Safety, Quality & Compliance Support FLINT's commitment to safety and quality by: Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, contractual, client, and company requirements. Participating in and monitoring daily safety toolbox meetings. Facilitating weekly safety meetings in partnership with HSE personnel. Taking immediate corrective action to address unsafe acts or conditions. Reporting incidents, injuries, significant events, and behavioral concerns. Supporting quality personnel and monitoring work quality and team performance. Ensuring completion and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs). Resource & Equipment Management Maintain operational readiness by: Verifying the accuracy and completion of timecards submitted by Forepersons. Ensuring company and client vehicles and equipment are maintained in safe operating conditions. Supporting onboarding and safety orientation activities for new personnel. Coordinating resources to support safe and efficient project execution. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Contribute to successful project delivery by: Building strong working relationships with clients, crews, and project stakeholders. Communicating project updates, progress, and operational challenges. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practices. Promoting a culture focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence. Qualifications Technical Trade Certificate or Journeyperson Certification. Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in industrial construction, maintenance, turnaround, or related environments. Strong knowledge of field operations, workforce coordination, and safe work practices. QA/QC and planning/scheduling experience is considered an asset. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing project requirements Additional Information This position has been identified as a safety-sensitive position and will require completion of drug and alcohol testing.
