Our Food & Beverage team is growing here Glen Arbour Golf Course / Deerfield Pub! We are on the lookout for a Food & Beverage Server to join our team, where your “office” is one of Nova Scotia’s beautiful outdoor settings. If you’re seeking to gain experience in a fun, collaborative and fast paced organization, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! As a Food & Beverage Server at the Deerfield Pub, you will work collaboratively with your team to provide exceptional service, offer guests recommendations, and create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for all members and guests. This is a part-time term position extending into the fall, with the possibility of further extension. How you’ll spend your day: Greet guests promptly and professionally, presenting menus, offering cocktails and appetizers, explaining specials, and answering questions about the Deerfield Pub and Glen Arbour. Accurately take and relay food and beverage orders to the kitchen and bar, ensuring special dietary needs and requests are communicated clearly. Provide thoughtful pairing recommendations to enhance the guest experience. Serve orders efficiently, delivering food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests. Anticipate and respond to guest needs, ensuring an attentive and personalized experience. Maintain table settings by clearing complete meals, replenishing utensils, refilling drinks, and promptly addressing spills or special requests. Process payments, issue bills, and return change or credit card slips. Contribute to a collaborative team environment that prioritizes timely and high-quality service. Assist with cleaning duties and overall maintenance of the dining area as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals. What will help you thrive: Minimum 2 years of serving experience in a hospitality setting. Must have a Valid Smart Serve certification for Nova Scotia. Strong organizational skills for managing reservations and tables. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of food & beverage health and safety standards. Availability for shift work, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. A positive attitude with a sense of urgency, purpose, and enthusiasm for guest service. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
