Position #: V44189 Expected Start Date: September 21, 2026 Union: SUN Facility: Population and Public Health - Regina City/Town: Regina Department: Community Recovery Services Type: Full-time temporary Expected Up to Date: September 10, 2027 FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days Number of Hours per Rotation: 224 hours per 6 weeks; 8 hours shift Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: Field Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Nurse B $42.040 to $52.440 Travel Required: Yes Job Description: Under the direction of a Manager and as part of the interdisciplinary team, the Community Mental Health Nurse provides a complex range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment and case coordination services to a community mental health and addictions population The incumbent provides program consultation and co-ordination, evaluation of clinical interventions, supervision, preceptor students in formal clinical practicum, and provides professional and public education regarding mental health and addiction issues and resources. The incumbent will provide nursing leadership and clinical expertise in the development and maintenance of community mental health and addiction treatment programs, and ensure nursing practice standards are maintained. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience * Must have min 2 yrs post grad recent recognized mental health & addiction exp Education * Graduate from school of general nursing with training in psychiatric nursing Other Education and Training * Current registration w/College of Reg Psych Nurses of SK (CRPNS) required * Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable Competencies * Basic - Computer skills * Decision making skills * Problem solving skills * Cultural competency * Basic - Keyboarding skills * Conflict resolution skills Knowledge and Abilities * Work collaboratively w/ a multidisciplinary team & other agencies in the commnty * Highly developed written and oral communication skills * Ability to collect, record, report comprehensive client information accurately * Knowledge of assessment, triage, treatment and case management. * Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems * Exp. in mental health & addictions community outreach & crisis interventions * Extensive knowledge of community resources for clients and caregivers * Excellent knowledge and skills related to community psychiatric nursing practice * Demonstrated leadership skills, workload management and administration skills. * Knowledge in various intervention strategies for individuals and groups * Ability to formulate evidence-based intervention based on clinical presentation * Strong interpersonal skills * Excellent consultation & public relation skills * Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships. * Able to work independently in a self motivated manner & respond under pressure * Ability to identify, implement and evaluate areas of client difficulty. * Demonstrated approaches to problem solving w/strong decision-making capability Other Information * Registered/eligible with College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of SK - CRPNS * For more information on the city of Regina please visit https://www.regina.ca/ * Requires a valid driver’s license. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of recent recognized experience in mental health and addictions and hold a degree in general nursing with psychiatric training. Current registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRPNS) and a valid driver's license are required.
