About the MLS Laboratory Assistant Role: Under the direction of the Program Manager, Medical Laboratory Sciences, the Lab Assistant Medical Laboratory Sciences performs duties associated with the operation of the MLS Laboratories Specific duties include: Prepare and provide the appropriate materials for MLA and MLT laboratories including solutions, reagents, simulated patient specimens, equipment, supplies and any other materials associated with executing the laboratories for this program. Assist in monitoring laboratory safety and performing machine/equipment maintenance, Ensure all laboratory spaces are kept neat and clean, Responsible for the set up and breakdown of daily laboratories With the collaboration, guidance and support of the Lab Facilitator, support student learning for MLA labs and MLT labs and ensure a safe, and engaging interaction for all learners within the laboratory space About You: You are passionate about working at Ontario's largest Polytechnic; you thrive on improving productivity and quality that contribute to team success! The Lab Assistant is responsible for preparing laboratory materials, solutions, and equipment while ensuring a safe and clean environment for students. They also collaborate with the Lab Facilitator to support student learning and maintain laboratory functionality.

Candidates must hold a college certificate or advanced diploma, with a bachelor's degree preferred. A minimum of 3 years of experience as an MLA or MLT and active certification through CSMLS or MLPAO are required.
