Role: Data Engineer with Gen AI Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite) Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Senior Data Engineer with expertise in AWS and Python to build and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud-based architectures. This role plays a key part in supporting business transformation by ensuring efficient data collection, processing, and availability for enterprise decision-making. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design reliable data frameworks, automate workflows, maintain data quality, and support enterprise data initiatives. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data architectures. Build and automate data workflows using Python to improve efficiency and reliability. Develop and maintain data processing frameworks and ETL processes. Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance across enterprise data operations. Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective data solutions. Integrate Generative AI capabilities into data solutions to support innovation and business transformation. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data systems for performance, scalability, and reliability. Document data processes, frameworks, and technical solutions to support knowledge sharing and compliance. Contribute to improving enterprise data availability and accessibility. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 7–10 years of experience in Data Engineering or a related role. Strong experience designing and implementing data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions. Proven experience working with AWS-based data engineering environments. Strong programming experience with Python for data processing and automation. Experience building and maintaining ETL processes. Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and compliance principles. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience applying Generative AI technologies within data solutions. Experience with data visualization tools and techniques. Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases. Understanding of machine learning concepts and frameworks. Experience working with cross-functional teams in enterprise environments.
