Job Description: Position Purpose summary: This position will provide general support to various services in the Community and Family Services setting of a Ministry Unit. KEY Accountabilities: The incumbent may perform all, some, or similar range of duties. As directed, support pre-planned program activities for the community (food bank, crafts, sports, games, music, homework stations, Bible-based devotions, community church, meetings etc.). Work in a team setting supporting various tasks and activities. Maintain strict confidentially of all matters pertaining to the program participants. Adhere to policies and procedures relating to the programs. Perform other work-related duties as assigned. Working Conditions: The incumbent’s work environment is typically in the food bank, soup kitchen and storage area. May be required to move/lift to 30 pounds. Education, Qualifications and Certifications: Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities. Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures. Alternative combination of education and Experience may be considered. Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion. Education, Qualifications and Certifications: Completion of some high school coursework is required. CPR, First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Training or willingness to complete once hired. Drivers’ License is required (not and asset) Experience and Knowledge: The incumbent must have a year of related experience or other related experiences. Skills and Capabilities Maintain and promote a positive image of The Salvation Army by providing a high caliber of services and dealing with others in a courteous and professional manner. Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility. Good team player. Organized and attentive to details. This is for a temporary part time position. Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $17.00 to $18.08 with a maximum of $21.69. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role. Candidates must have at least one year of related experience and a valid driver's license. Completion of some high school coursework is required, along with a willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid, and Non-Violent Crisis training.
