Position Overview The Certified Cardiac Technician works collaboratively with the Health Service staff and interdisciplinary team and accountable to the Manager and Diagnostic Imaging Director in ensuring patient diagnostic procedures are performed within acceptable standards. Assist in coordinating the day-to-day clinical activities related to patient-focused care within the Cardiac Ambulatory Diagnostics Clinics. Performs ECG procedures for the admitted patients within the various patient-care areas and communicates departmental issues and concerns to the Manager. Education ECG Certificate Course completed Cardiovascular Technician graduate or Technologist course through the Michener Institute and or approved Health Sciences Institute Registered or a member with the CTAO/CSCT Recent BLS Experience Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Holter scanning and stress testing Recent relevant experience in performing ECG testing Knowledge in cardiac anatomy and physiology Professional and cooperative; mature, reliable and responsible Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills Ability to work well independently and with the interdisciplinary team Demonstrates excellence in providing patient focused care Demonstrated commitment to on-going learning Demonstrates the values of TEGH Good work and attendance record required All employees of Michael Garron Hospital (MGH),a division of Toronto East Health Network (TEHN) [formerly Toronto East General Hospital (TEGH)] agree to work within the legislated practices of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario. Candidates must have an ECG certificate or be a Cardiovascular Technician graduate with at least 5 years of experience in Holter scanning and stress testing. Registration with CTAO/CSCT and current BLS certification are required.
