Job Description

Your role as an Electrical / Automation Co-op student will be to take part in engineering projects in the Energy, Industrial and Mining sectors. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the deliverables you are assigned and to maintain a good working relationship with your teammates.

You will carry out some of the following activities:

  • Participate in small to major projects for utility (substation and generation) and heavy industry clients (e.g., mining, industrial, renewable energy)
  • Prepare sketches and drawings (schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, etc.)
  • Prepare technical documents (reports, specifications, test sheets, manuals, etc.)
  • Prepare engineering lists
  • Perform device configuration and programming (PLCs, HMIs, relays, etc.)
  • Take part in site inspections, testing and commissioning

  • Enrolled in an Electrical or Automation Engineering or diploma program
