SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR Deadline date for submissions: Rolling deadline, until position is filled Location of Position: Toronto Type of Position: Unionized No. of Vacancies: 1 Term: Temporary Full-Time until March 31, 2027 Effective Date: October 2026 Remuneration: $32.78 - $49.66/hr + 4% vacation pay Ontario Arts Council is seeking a well-rounded Systems Administrator to provide technical support for a variety of systems and platforms, networks, software and hardware, and directly supports internal and external users by trouble-shooting issues and providing support for IS&T solutions. This position suits someone who likes working collaboratively as a member of a small and mighty IS&T team, gets fulfillment from providing excellent customer service, and likes a variety of responsibilities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide direct technical trouble-shooting support to staff and external system users through a variety of mechanisms, such as phone, in person, or via virtual meeting. * Troubleshoot issues and develop solutions or workarounds. Proactively recommend measures to prevent future issues. * Provide system administration for Microsoft 365 including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Intune, Entra ID (Azure AD), Defender, etc. * Administer Active Directory accounts including login credentials, access rights and permissions, and security groups for network, applications, systems and services. * Administer and configure servers, Active Directory, SSO, SSL(TLS), operating systems, virtual machines, Cloud services, etc. * Configure and maintain network equipment including switch, router, firewall, VPN, access point, server, etc. * Install, configure and upgrade desktop, laptop, printer, smartphone and other equipment including both software and hardware. * Document technical incidents, system changes, user guides, and best practices. * Assist IS&T team members in the completion of routine or simple requirements for configuration and maintenance of Grants Management System, website and other IT applications and systems. * Participate in testing new or updated IT platforms, systems, applications, hardware, network, and cybersecurity technologies. QUALIFICATION CRITERIA * 3+ years’ work experience in IT field as technical support, help desk or system administrator. * Cloud Certification in Microsoft Azure is an asset. * Intermediate knowledge of AWS, Azure, VMs, Single Sign On, MFA, etc. * Proficient working knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems and Windows server systems. * Intermediate knowledge of system customization and application development. * At least one year of system administration experience with Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID/Azure AD, etc.) * Experience installing and configuring hardware and software on Windows platforms. * Infrastructure experience such as networking, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, AD, Wi-Fi, and VPN. * Work experience with grants management systems, processes and activities is an asset. * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are required. * Excellent communication and customer service skills in support of a diversity of contacts are required. * Excellent verbal and written English, with bilingual proficiency in French an asset. * Strong interpersonal skills and a good team player. * Advanced organization skills and adept at multi-tasking. * An aptitude to learn new technology quickly.
