Reporting to the Director, Health & Safety , in this role you will: Coordinate and support the implementation of OCWA's Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) management system, programs, policies, and initiatives across the Agency. Research emerging health and safety trends, legislative changes, and industry best practices, and provide recommendations to support continuous improvement of OH&S programs. Conduct risk and impact assessments related to health and safety legislation, directives, workplace incidents, and organizational initiatives. Provide advice, guidance, and interpretation to managers, employees, Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSCs), and health and safety representatives on a broad range of occupational health and safety matters. Assist with the development, delivery, and evaluation of health and safety training programs, workshops, communications, and awareness initiatives. Support workplace incident management activities, including monitoring trends, analyzing data, and recommending strategies to improve safety performance and reduce workplace risk. Coordinate health and safety projects and initiatives, including project planning, stakeholder engagement, tracking deliverables, and reporting on outcomes. Develop and maintain health and safety communications, procedures, guidelines, and reporting tools to support compliance and employee awareness. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including the Ministry of Labour, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), safety organizations, and industry partners. Participate on committees, working groups, and project teams to support the delivery of corporate health and safety priorities. Perform other duties, projects, and assignments as required.
