Come and join us — where payments meet purpose! | What we are looking for Payments Canada’s mandate is to establish and operate national systems for the clearing and settlement of payments in Canada, and other arrangements for making or exchange of payments, and to facilitate payment system interoperability and innovation. In fulfilling this mandate, Payments Canada works to promote the efficiency, safety and soundness of its clearing and settlement systems, while taking into account the interests of payment system users. Our systems are at the heart of the Canadian financial system, enabling the clearing and settlement of hundreds of billions of dollars of payments each day. Reporting to the Manager, Member Engagement, the Senior Analyst, Industry Relations, supports Payments Canada’s efforts to build and maintain strong relationships across the Canada Payments ecosystem. The Senior Analyst, Industry Relations, acts as a key liaison, fostering productive, collaborative connections with members and stakeholders to support the organization’s Industry engagement and relationship building. The Senior Analyst also contributes to the development and execution of Payments Canada’s industry engagement initiatives, ensuring members’ perspectives are understood and integrated. This role requires excellent relationship management skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with teams across Payments Canada. This is a temporary position for 8 months based out of our Toronto office. | A day in the life Reporting to the Manager, Member Engagement, the Senior Analyst, Industry Relations is responsible for but not limited to: Industry Engagement & Strategy Support the execution and refinement of formal Industry Relations and enterprise engagement models for Payments Canada. Develop and implement industry engagement strategies in partnership with member engagement team members for specific Members as assigned. Deliver annual account plans for assigned member relationships that identify priorities for the year, taking into account modernization priorities and Member issues. Manage the assignment of Member Accounts as required to best support the goals and objectives of Industry Relations. Industry Analysis & Awareness Develop awareness of the external payments environment, domestically and internationally. Identify and track trends that will affect Payments Canada’s members and stakeholders. Provide intel and insights gathered in interactions with members to partners within Payments Canada to improve interactions and ensure success of initiatives. Provide input related to the strategic plan, long-term desired outcomes, and major initiatives to internal and external stakeholders. Relationship Management & Liaison Relationship Management: Continually manage relationships with members and stakeholders at appropriate levels. Internal Liaison: Act as the liaison for Industry Relations with assigned internal stakeholders and partners. Cross-Functional Support: Participate in working groups and direct 1:1 engagement to support effective delivery of modernization and other objectives. Team Collaboration: Work with the Industry Relations team and the Analyst, Industry Relations, to ensure execution of various team tasks or deliverables. Contacts and Communication Act as the focal point for communicating key messages (strategic plan, risk management activity, research, new services, etc.) to assigned relationships. Maintain and enhance Payments Canada’s image through participation and speaking engagements at industry-level and Payments Canada-led conferences. Participate in relevant industry associations and provide timely communications and analysis to the Manager and Modernization team. Contribute to change management and implementation of Payments Canada services within the ecosystem. |What you need to be successful Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business Administration, Economics, Commerce, or a related field). A minimum of five (5) years of experience within the payments and/or financial services sector and a minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience specifically in client engagement, stakeholder management, or relationship management. The incumbent will work primarily within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and/or Ottawa region. Occasional travel to other centers such as Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver will be required Proven ability to build, manage, and influence high-level relationships with external members and internal cross-functional teams. Excellent presentation and persuasion skills; able to establish credibility quickly and represent the organization at industry conferences. Ability to analyze complex market trends and translate them into actionable annual account plans. Capable of high performance in ambiguous, fast-paced, and rapidly changing situations. Superior problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying member needs and process improvements. A strong team player who can collaborate with and mentor junior analysts within the Industry Relations team. Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and analysis. Eligibility to successfully complete background checks that will be carried out by Payments Canada, including criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education checks. | Salary range Our target starting rate for this role is $100,300 with flexibility based on your experience and qualifications.
