Here’s how an HSE Coordinator for Melloy contributes to our team: Responsibilities • Assisting in the implementation, monitoring, and support of the project’s HSE Plan, HSEOPs, safe work practices, and any other HSE-related practices.• Conducting and documenting project HSE inspections.• Identifying and monitoring appropriate site PPE.• Assisting project management and supervision with the implementation and monitoring of the emergency response plan, project security requirements, and environmental plan.• Assist project management and direct supervision with the incident investigation process.• Verifying that corrective actions are implemented.• Participating in and providing information for Daily or Weekly HSE meetings.• Assisting in conducting and identifying when project-specific training is required, which may include weekly training topics, hazard specific training, and the HSE Operating Procedure (HSEOP).• Providing project team with project-specific information and statistics to develop trends and assisting with the creation of trend action plans, as required.• Assisting with the development and implementation of Hazard ID tools (e.g., Construction Hazard Assessment (CHA), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Pre-job Safety Instruction (PSI)), as required.• Gathering, reviewing, and providing input on field related documentation.• Monitoring safety compliance.Qualifications • Postsecondary degree or diploma in related discipline or trade experience or equivalent• Safety designations such as NCSO, CRSP, or CHST are considered an asset• 2 years’ construction industry experience, including direct HSE experience in industrial construction, maintenance, or turnaround environments.• Knowledge of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation• Ability to implement HSE processes• Demonstrated ability to influence project teams regarding HSE responsibility• Ability to identify and resolve conflicts with craft workers• Effective communication and presentation skills• Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology• Understanding/Comprehension of Human and Organization Performance Principals and Energy Based Safety (EBS) Theory.Once you apply, our recruitment team will review your application and contact you if your experience is a good fit.
