Location: Guelph Season: Spring to Winter Service and Tire Change Season Type: Seasonal (approximately 3 months) About The Role Norm's Esso is seeking a Seasonal Tire and Lube Technician to support the shop during the busy spring service season. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on automotive work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in providing safe, efficient, and customer-focused service. The successful candidate will assist with seasonal tire services, oil changes, basic maintenance checks, and general shop support while working as part of a small, collaborative team. Why Join Norm's Esso Join a supportive, hardworking team that values quality workmanship and excellent customer service Gain hands-on experience across both tire and lube services in a real automotive shop environment Build practical skills in a busy seasonal role where no two days are the same Work for a trusted local business known for treating customers like family Key Responsibilities Perform seasonal tire changeovers on all makes, all models passenger vehicles and light trucks Mount, balance, inspect, and install tires to ensure safety and performance Complete oil and filter changes efficiently and accurately Check and top up essential vehicle fluids, including coolant, brake fluid, and washer fluid Inspect basic vehicle components such as belts, hoses, filters, and tires for wear or potential safety concerns Identify and communicate maintenance or safety issues to the service team Operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times Provide friendly, professional support to customers when needed Collaborate with technicians and team members to keep daily operations running smoothly Requirements Qualifications and Skills Previous tire, lube, or general mechanical experience is an asset Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Ability to perform physical work and lift 50 lbs or more Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe, high-quality work Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team Reliable, punctual, and ready to contribute in a fast-paced environment Valid driver's license required Ideal Candidate Profile Enjoys hands-on, physical work Takes pride in doing the job right Learns quickly and is eager to build automotive service skills Thrives in a busy, team-oriented environment Values great service and helping customers stay safe on the road Norms Esso and RLB People are an Equal Opportunity and Inclusive Employer committed to a fair and equitable hiring process.
