Every task you do helps support dignity and quality of life. If you were working with us as a Housekeeping and Laundry Aide, here are some of the things you would have done last week:Performed light cleaning duties in Residents’ households, including dusting furniture, mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning wash basins, mirrors, showers, and tubs, and safely disposing of garbage from Residents’ roomsCleaned public and high-traffic areas by mopping and vacuuming floors, dusting surfaces, washing windows, and emptying trash containersCompleted cleaning of designated areas in line with established procedures, daily routines, and hygiene requirements for both morning and evening shiftsOperated housekeeping and laundry equipment safely and effectivelyProvided efficient, courteous, and respectful service to Residents at all timesFollowed WHMIS legislation and safe handling procedures for all chemicals used within the departmentWorked cooperatively with other departments to support housekeeping and laundry operationsFollowed established routines and direction from the Housekeeping ManagerAnd supported your team as needed. While we don't take ourselves seriously, we take our jobs seriously and love to have fun with each other and the Residents!QualificationsTo be hired into this role, you must have:Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalentExperience in housekeeping and laundry (healthcare or hospitality setting an asset)Preferred experience in Seniors Living / RetirementAbility to operate commercial laundry and cleaning equipment (washer, dryer, auto-scrubber, vacuum, etc.)Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 monthsAdditional InformationWhile our Applicant Tracking System uses some AI-enhanced tools, every decision throughout screening, assessing, and selecting candidates is made by real people on our team.
