Position Summary: The Finance Clerk is responsible for providing financial and administrative support to the Finance Department, with a primary focus on financial administration and reporting requirements related to Children’s Special Allowance (CSA). The incumbent ensures the accurate recording, monitoring, and reconciliation of financial transactions for children in care while maintaining compliance with agency policies, funding requirements, and established accounting practices. Some Duties include: Complete and maintain all CSA financial data entry, ensuring revenues, expenses, and financial transactions are accurately recorded for each child in care. Maintain accurate financial records for individual CSA files in accordance with agency policies and funding requirements. Review invoices, receipts, and supporting documentation to ensure expenditures are accurate, complete, and appropriately allocated to CSA accounts. Monitor CSA expenditures and identify discrepancies or outstanding financial issues for follow-up. Assist with the preparation of CSA financial reports and reconciliations as requested by the Chief Financial Officer. Ensure financial documentation supporting CSA expenditures is complete, organized, and available for internal and external audits. Maintain accurate, organized, and current accounting records. Assist with CSA payment reconciliations. Maintain filing and records management systems, both electronic and physical. May respond to general inquiries from internal and external clients in a professional manner. Qualifications: Minimum Grade 12 Diploma, GED, or equivalent, along with a certificate or diploma in a two-year Business Administration – Financial Services program from a recognized post-secondary institution. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a finance or accounting environment. Demonstrated positive and reliable work history. Valid Manitoba Driver’s Licence, access to a reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel as required. Must pass Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, and Child Abuse Registry Check. Ability to speak and/or understand the Ojibway language would be an asset. Knowledge and respect of First Nations traditional culture and traditional philosophy.
