Résumé du poste
Hello Quebec City Tour Guides We are very pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2026-2027 season. Toonie is already preparing its operations to close out the 2026 fiscal year and, above all, to be fully ready for the upcoming 2027 peak tourism season. Our goal is to meet the expectations of our diverse clientele from various countries as effectively as possible. For this reason, we are once again launching an extended recruitment process for certified tour guides for permanent, temporary, and on‑call positions — even if you currently work with other companies. We are also open to establishing contracts with independent guides. All of this is driven by the momentum of a dynamic management team. Our operational model generally includes three work shifts of approximately three hours each, scheduled in the morning, afternoon, and evening. We look forward to meeting you. As we gear up for the season, we invite you to apply, whether you are just launching your career, or are a seasoned veteran in the field. We offer a competitive wage along with a flexible tipping policy: you retain 100% of your tips on private tours or participate in a tip-pooling arrangement for our large-group walking tours. Company Overview Toonie Tours is rapidly growing, Canadian-owned tour operator with a national presence, currently operating in 11 cities across the country. As a customer-centric company, we connect visitors to the heart of Canada through immersive and authentic experiences. Since our founding in 2018, we have maintained a 5-star rating by delivering engaging, accessible, and world-class tours. Job Description We’re seeking dynamic tour guides for our walking tours in Quebec City. Ideal candidates will be available to lead tours on both weekdays and weekends. Proficient in Spanish is considered a major asset. In this role, you lead groups of up to 30 guests on our “Free Walking Tour”, highlighting the city’s history, culture, and hidden gems. We also fulfill requests for “Private Tour” that demand the same high standards of excellence. We offer a base hourly wage supplemented by a performance-based compensation model. This system allows exceptional guides to increase their earnings through tips and bonuses tied to guest satisfaction. If you cherish Quebec City, its history, and its people, and love sharing your passion with others, you’ll thrive as part of our team. Roles and Responsibilities Creativity – While our itineraries are pre-defined, you have the creative freedom to enhance them with your own research and personalize your tours through captivating storytelling. Leadership – You are responsible for welcoming, managing, and engaging groups of up to 30 people, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Customer Service – You represent both Toonie Tours and the tour guide profession with a high degree of enthusiasm and professionalism. Local Expertise – You serve as a trusted local resource, providing visitors with authentic recommendations and insightful travel tips. Adaptability – You excel at adjusting your tour to meet the group’s unique dynamics and needs. Please note that our tours operate rain or shine. Desired Profile Physically Fit – Ability to walk approximately 5 km over 2.5 to 3 hours while leading a group and delivering an engaging commentary. Work Authorization – Must hold a valid Québec City Tourist Guide Permit; must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Expected Start Date: Immediate We look forward to meeting you! Please upload your resume, along with a short introduction, and indicate in your application whether you are interested in full-time, part-time, or contract work. We will contact you to schedule an interview.
