Résumé du poste

Housing Project Coordinator, College of Medicine PRIMARY PURPOSE To lead a comprehensive review of learner housing across the College of Medicine in support of rural medical education and the College's medical education expansion initiative. Reporting to the Vice Dean, Education, the Housing Project Coordinator will conduct an environmental scan of learner housing across the College of Medicine, documenting the current state of housing resources, operational models, governance structures, partnerships, and processes supporting Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME), Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME), Family Medicine, Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS), School of Rehabilitation Science (SRS) and other learner programs. Working collaboratively with academic units, distributed communities, and external partners, the incumbent will identify strengths, gaps, risks, and opportunities to improve coordination, consistency, and sustainability of learner housing. The position will provide analysis and evidence-based recommendations to inform future decision-making regarding distributed learner housing and support the College's long-term medical education expansion goals. NATURE OF WORK The College of Medicine currently utilizes learner housing across numerous communities throughout Saskatchewan. Housing arrangements have developed independently across academic portfolios and distributed sites over many years, resulting in varying processes, governance structures, funding models and operational approaches. As the College expands rural and regional medical education opportunities, housing has emerged as a critical enabler of learner placement capacity. Many communities have the educational and clinical capacity to support additional learners but are constrained by limited or uncoordinated housing resources. Working in a highly collaborative environment, the Housing Project Coordinator will conduct environmental scans, document current-state processes, analyze operational gaps, facilitate stakeholder engagement and help develop recommendations for sustainable housing strategies. The position requires an individual who can think strategically while managing multiple concurrent initiatives. Success depends upon exceptional relationship-building skills, political acuity, sound judgment and the ability to work across numerous administrative and academic units with differing priorities. The incumbent will routinely interact with senior leaders, faculty, administrative staff, community partners, physician leaders, municipalities, the Saskatchewan Health Authority and government partners. The ability to facilitate consensus, influence without authority and manage organizational change will be critical. ACCOUNTABILITIES Strategic Planning and Business Analysis Lead a comprehensive environmental scan of distributed learner housing across Saskatchewan. Document current-state housing inventory, governance structures, funding models, operational processes and service delivery across UGME, PGME, Family Medicine, MPAS and SRS. Identify gaps, risks, duplication and opportunities for integration and improvement. Conduct business analysis to support evidence-informed recommendations. Develop future-state model recommendations for learner housing coordination. Prepare reports, briefing notes and recommendations for senior leadership. Monitor trends and emerging issues affecting learner housing and distributed medical education. Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Development Build collaborative relationships across UGME, PGME, MPAS, Family Medicine, SRS and other College units. Establish productive working relationships with distributed communities, municipalities, housing providers, physician leaders and health system partners. Facilitate discussions to identify local opportunities and challenges. Act as the central point of contact for strategic learner housing initiatives. Support collaborative problem solving among internal and external stakeholders. Operational Coordination and Continuous Improvement Develop and maintain centralized housing information and reporting tools. Support development of standardized housing processes and governance. Coordinate collection and analysis of housing utilization data. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency and service delivery. Support the review and analysis of housing agreements, procurement approaches and contractual arrangements to inform future housing strategies and recommendations. Contribute to long-term sustainability planning for distributed learner housing. Undertake additional strategic initiatives related to medical education expansion, as assigned.
