JOB TITLE : Specialist, Benefits POSITION STATUS : 12-Month Temporary Contract DEPARTMENT : Human Resources LOCATION : Montreal We're looking to hire an enthusiastic Human Resources and Benefits Specialist with well-rounded HR experience, an ability to manage his or her learning of multiple processes and policies and is comfortable with autonomy and taking direction. You will be hands-on and involved in the more 'day to day' requirements. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING • Developing, recommending, improving and implementing plans and employee benefit policies, and oversee the administration of existing plans • Operate as a subject matter expert in the areas of benefits, pension, employee share purchase plan, and group health insurance • Monitor and respond to federal and provincial benefits related to compliance requirements, monitor vendor performance, and calculate payments due to benefit vendors. • Act as resource person to answer general inquiries from employees, across multiple locations in Canada • Administer group insurance regulations, interpret clauses in the group insurance policy • Experience with administering WSIB and CNESST claims • Expertise in defined contributions and defined benefits pension plans • Manage all leaves (parental, short term and long-term leaves) for employees across Canada • Lead the accommodation process, ensuring thorough documentation, timely follow‑up, and effective feedback. • Seek to improve our business processes, practices and policies (Benchmark our policies and practices against industry and make recommended changes for improvement) to implement best practices for our continued expansion and growth. • Participate in the Health and Safety committee, first Aid training • Partner with the HR team to benchmark and continuously improve HR strategies, processes, programs, policies and tools • Analyze trends and metrics, anticipate people-related needs and deliver value-added service to managers and employees • Deliver solutions that drive company and individual performance to achieve the company’s initiatives in a way that is reflective of our unique culture, and values • Work on critical projects that impact employee experience, engagement and retention WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM • Degree in Human Resources, labour relations or relevant field, combined with a minimum of 5 years of experience, in HR and/or Benefits • Knowledge of Canadian provincial and federal legislation • Knowledge of Dayforce is a definite plus • Experience in managing employee benefits • Ability to analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations for action • Ability to influence, coach and consult with all levels of the organization in a positive and effective manner • Demonstrated knowledge of business practices and the link between HR strategy and business strategy • Bilingual in French and English WHY WORK WITH US? • Our team loves to travel, and we have one of the most generous employee travel programs in the industry.
