Vancouver Talmud Torah is hiring a Temporary Full-Time Controller Vancouver Talmud Torah (“VTT”) is an inclusive Jewish community day school committed to academic excellence and nurturing lifelong learners who engage the world through Jewish traditions and values. Our school serves families from a diverse range of Jewish backgrounds and religious practices. The Controller is an integral part of the Finance team. Reporting to the CFO/Business Manager & Director of HR, their role is responsible for the oversight of all financial, accounting, payroll activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the CFO/Business Manager & Director of HR with budget management, financial analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting. This is a terrific opportunity for a professional who is well-versed in working closely with senior management and thrives in a position of leadership. VTT is currently recruiting a temporary Controller to fill a leave of absence. What VTT is looking for from you: CPA designation A combination of 3-5 years of managerial accounting and financial management experience, including experience in working with teams/departments, preferably in a highly engaged and fast-paced environment. Professional and strong work ethic 2 years experience of working with Quickbooks & Ceridian Dayforce Strong management and people skills Openness to managing administrative tasks associated with employment contracts and HR (ex. benefits, RRSP’s, etc) Going beyond the basic requirements to “get the job done” in the most effective and efficient way possible Detail oriented and strong organization skills Must be a self-starter, multi-tasker, and excellent problem-solving abilities Team player attitude, understands the importance of maintaining a high communicative environment, offers an inclusive approach with constant care, constant training and communication while fostering a team environment Proficient with systems (i.e.: Microsoft products, google suite) Flexibility to work extended hours if needed Minimum of 2 years experience in human resources preferred Experience with Veracross Student billing an asset Detailed job description can be found here. Candidates must hold a CPA designation and have 3-5 years of managerial accounting experience, including proficiency in Quickbooks and Ceridian Dayforce. Experience in human resources and familiarity with Veracross Student billing are preferred.
