Help Lakeshore build the best team to serve the residents of Lakeshore! The Municipality of Lakeshore is recruiting candidates for temporary municipal election support staff positions. The Municipality of Lakeshore is seeking reliable, customer-service-focused individuals to support the delivery of the municipal election. These temporary positions assist with various election-related duties on Election Day, Monday, October 26, 2026. Qualifications include but are not limited to: Must be a at least 18 years of age on Election Day. Available to work up to 12 hours. Available to attend one training session (scheduled for September 10 and September 14). Must be able to obtain a satisfactory police clearance certificate. Election Positions: Ballot Officer: The Ballot Officer is responsible for receiving voters, electronically recording each voter on the Voters’ List, and issuing the appropriate ballot. The Ballot Officer also records any required declarations, objections, or related notes on the Voters’ List and completes the ballot reconciliation form. Revisions Officer: The Revisions Officer is responsible assisting the Supervising Deputy Returning Officer with the set up of the Voting Place and the removal of all campaign material in the area surrounding the voting place; ensuring the polling location is accessible to the electors and assisting with accessibility requirements: verifying elector identification and confirm eligibility to vote: locating elector's name in the database; collecting elector personal information to complete online forms; managing a large flow of electing within a voting location Tabulator Officer: The Tabulator Officer is stationed at the voting tabulation machine and is responsible for assisting voters with inserting their ballots into the tabulator; generating zero report immediately before the opening of the voting period. At the close of polls, the Tabulator Officer produces the tabulation tapes and assists the Supervisor/DRO with the secure return of voting equipment, ballots, and account summaries to the Clerk’s Office. Information Officer: The Information Officer is responsible for becoming familiar with the Ward and Polls in the Voting Place; assisting the Supervising Deputy Returning Officer (SDRO) with the setup of the Voting Place and the removal of all campaign material in the area surrounding the Voting Place; greeting electors at the voting location and requesting they have proper identification ready; assisting electors at the voting location and providing them with instructions and directions As an inclusive employer, the Municipality of Lakeshore is committed to providing a fully accessible recruitment process.
