Course Learning Objectives: At the end of this course, students should be able to:
Analyze and interpret basic occupational hygiene data
Communicate/translate scientific information about occupational hazards to various end users including management and workers.
Evaluate peer-reviewed scientific literature relevant to occupational health and/or hygiene.
Explain how scientific findings could potentially be used or implemented into practice.
Manage ethical issues related to the practice of occupational hygiene.
Recognize, anticipate and prioritize hazards in provided workplace scenarios.
Explain the role of occupational hygiene in the occupational health and safety system.
Estimated course enrolment: 15 Estimated TA support: None Schedule: Thursdays 1-4pm Sessional dates: September -December 2026 Salary: $9,997.47 (Sessional Lecturer I) $10,699.21 (Sessional Lecturer I Long Term) $10,699.21 (Sessional Lecturer II) $10,953.96 (Sessional Lecturer II Long Term) $10,953.96 (Sessional Lecturer III) $11,228.90 (Sessional Lecturer III Long Term) (Salary inclusive of 4% or 6% vacation pay, where applicable) Please note that should rates stipulated in the Collective Agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the Collective Agreement shall prevail. Qualifications: PhD or equivalent experience; expertise in Occupational Hygiene Description of duties: All normal duties related to teaching a university credit course, including course planning and implementation, weekly teaching, student interaction, evaluation & grading.
