You understand business planning and are confident in providing expertise in the areas of strategy and foresight, corporate scorecards and organizational effectiveness. Developing and implementing strategic and annual business planning processes is your jam. You understand the importance of liaising with all stakeholders to align goals with vision, mission and values. A typical day for the Senior Business Planning Advisor Strategic, Corporate and Divisional Business Planning Under direction of the Director, Strategy & Planning, leads and facilitate the development of APS’ strategic plan (five-year plans refreshed over three-to-five-year cycles), business plan (three-year plans refreshed annually) as well as the creation of and periodic reporting on the service delivery plans (SDPs) for pension plan clients. Develop and maintain divisional plans for the Finance division and assist other divisions with their respective plans, as required. Collaborate with pension plan clients and internal stakeholders to build, communicate and champion the various plans, and develop and update strategic priorities and other relevant information for these plans. Lead in the analysis and integration of the CEM survey results into the strategic and business plans. Develop a reporting and monitoring framework to provide regular statuses to internal and external stakeholders on the success and effectiveness of deliverables and commitments. Developing and Monitoring APS Scorecard Work closely with business areas and lead in the ongoing enhancement and maintenance of performance measures and the corporate scorecard, ensuring that the scorecard reflects key themes and strategic priorities. Facilitate and lead in the communication and roll-out of a corporate scorecard (and other measures/indicators) to internal and external stakeholders, as appropriate. Lead in the integration of the following perspectives in establishing the strategic business plan and appropriate scorecard measures: risk management, financial stewardship, client satisfaction, business process optimization, innovation, and the learning and growth of employees. Research and establish best practices with respect to scorecard reporting. Communication and Building Collaborative Relationships Provide oversight and ensure reporting is accurate and completed within the required timeframes. Consult and collaborate with business areas on business planning and performance measures. Provide leadership in the planning and execution of efforts to drive continuous improvements in risk management, compliance and issues management processes by APS as they impact corporate priorities to focus on. Provide oversight and direction in the education to APS employees as it relates to corporate business planning and goal-planning/setting. Contribute to employee engagement and understanding of the corporation’s goals and objectives through collaboration with the Communications team. What you bring University degree with at least five years of directly related experience at a senior level in a strategic, financial, and risk management environment. Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, project management, communications and leading transformation projects. Significant knowledge and experience in research methodology and statistics. Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Ability to synthesize information, data, ideas, plans and strategies into engaging and professional work products including written reports, plans, blogs and other communication materials. Ability to deal with conflicting issues, roadblocks, dependencies and change, demonstrating strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Ability to manage the procurement and work product of external consultants. Ability to share and receive ideas, advice and feedback in a team environment. Proactively collaborate with business areas to assist them in the identification, management and mitigation of risks. Strong ability to create and deliver engaging presentations to internal staff and external stakeholders and facilitate group discussions and workshops on business planning and related matters. Basic knowledge of corporate operational processes, guidelines and policies and associated risks.
