The Business Director (1 year contract) is a driving force behind client growth and team momentum. As the lead on major accounts, they drive clarity, impact, and ambition—translating complex client needs into bold, business-driving solutions internal teams know how to act upon. They own the room, shape strategy, and guide cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance work that doesn’t just meet expectations, it moves the needle. With rigorous focus on financials and an instinct for opportunity, they know how to turn trust and long-term partnership into real, tangible growth for clients and the agency.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Client Relationships: Act as the trusted voice in the room—guiding clients beyond the ask and into what the future demands. Lead with foresight to shape strategies that anticipate needs and build resilient, results-driven partnerships. Strategic Viewpoint: Drive big-picture thinking grounded in insight. Connect trends to business realities, turning challenges into future-ready strategies. Activate internal teams to deliver smart, integrated solutions that outperform expectations. Financial Accountability: Own the numbers and the narrative. Manage forecasting and budget health while partnering with finance to drive profitability. Unlock reinvestment opportunities and sharpen team financial fluency. Organic Growth & Business Development: Turn steady clients into expanding partnerships. Spot white space, broaden scopes, and push Cossette and Plus Company’s full offering forward. Innovation & Strategic Leadership: Lead with an entrepreneurial edge. Improve internal workflows, champion cross-functional collaboration, and fuel innovation. Contribute to new business planning and strategic presentations that shape Cossette’s future. Coaching & Team Development: Mentor with intent and lead by example. Build a culture of curiosity, accountability, and growth. Develop future-ready talent who are proactive, integrated, and future-ready. Model AI and tech fluency to help teams level up and lead smarter.
Skills & Qualifications:
6–10 years of experience in a similar role, with expertise in client management, strategic support, budget management, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Proven ability to build strategic, trust-based partnerships with senior clients and guide long-term brand growth. Expertise in translating complex business challenges into actionable marketing strategies and innovative solutions. Strong financial acumen—experienced in forecasting, budget oversight, and driving account profitability. Track record of unlocking organic growth and contributing to new business through strategic pitches and presentations. Entrepreneurial mindset with a talent for improving internal processes and spotting growth opportunities. Deep understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and how to apply them to build future-ready brands. Fluent in cross-functional collaboration—able to mobilize creative, strategy, and production teams around high-impact work. Comfortable navigating emerging technologies like AI and integrating tools into day-to-day strategies and workflows. Committed team leader and coach, with experience developing talent and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Transparency matters to us. For this role, you can expect a salary between $90,000- $125,000 annually, depending on experience. This is for a new vacancy.
