Job Description: Snowmaker

Note: Snowmaking season operates from approximately October 7th, 2026 to late December, 2026 depending on snow conditions. Limited opportunities may exist beyond contracted end date.

Snowmaking is a very important and highly respected part of our resort operation as well as a very unique working opportunity. Snowmakers are responsible for maintaining and ensuring the proper operational settings, conditional to a variety of equipment related to snow production in the resort, as well as the dismantling, relocating and setup of mobile snowmaking equipment around the mountain. Virtually all working hours are spent outdoors, in adverse weather conditions and temperatures (both day and night) to ensure equipment is running smoothly and a quality snow product is being produced. Successful candidates will be provided with hands-on training and the necessary knowledge to perform tasks safely and successfully.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a quality snow product is being produced
  • General up-keep and production maintenance of the snowmaking equipment
  • Set up and shut-down of snowmaking equipment
  • Transportation of snowmaking equipment
  • Comply with the tasks and projects assigned by their foreman/supervisors 

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Must have at least an ‘Intermediate-level’ or better ski/snowboard ability

  • Hold a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license (or international equivalent) and be able to provide proof from your insurer of 3 years claims free history 

  • Must have high level of physical fitness

  • Experience with long-hour shifts of manual of manual labour is preferred.

  • Experience with operating a snowmobile operation an asset, but not required

  • Problem-solving ability and remaining calm under pressure an asset

  • Must enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Must be flexible in working day and/or night shifts

  • Previous snowmaking experience an asset, but not required

  • Strong verbal and written English skills required

  • Previous snowmobile operation experience an asset, but not required

  • Energetic and self-motivated

 Work Schedule:

4 days on/3 days off (1:00am-1:00pm/1:00pm-1:00am)

3 days on/4 days off (1:00am-1:00pm/1:00pm-1:00am)

 Dress Code:

Outdoor uniform (jacket and pants) which is provided for a rental fee, you are to provide all other necessary items in accordance with appearance policy.
