About the role

Spirit of Math is seeking a high-standard, professional HR Co-op Student who is passionate about people and process, and eager to make a meaningful impact. The ideal candidate brings a proactive, can-do mindset and a strong focus on driving efficiency and effectiveness across HR processes.

Role Overview

The HR Co-op Student supports the delivery of high-quality Human Resources services within Spirit of Math’s structured and professional environment. This on-site role provides hands-on experience across core HR functions in a fast-paced setting. Work hours are generally aligned with standard business hours (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM), while remaining flexible to support business and operational requirements.

This role is ideal for a professional, dependable, and detail-oriented student who is committed to excellence, strong communication, accountability, and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

Support HR operations, including recruitment coordination, onboarding, employee documentation, and general administrative tasks; Build strong, professional relationships with employees and stakeholders; Maintain accurate and organized HR records, including monitoring and following up on outstanding employee documentation to ensure completeness and compliance; Assist in coordinating interviews, screening, scheduling, and candidate communications; Provide timely support and follow-up on employee inquiries and HR processes through the ticketing system, ensuring responsiveness and resolution; Participate in training, collaboration, and professional development opportunities, as needed; Support day-to-day HR activities, ensuring efficiency, organization, and attention to detail; Contribute positively to the organization and support broader HR and business initiatives;

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree or diploma from a recognized college or university in Human Resources; Previous experience in an administrative, customer service, or office environment is an asset but not required; Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail; Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion; Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and follow through on responsibilities in a timely manner; Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfort learning new systems; A proactive, can-do attitude with a strong willingness to learn and contribute to team success.

Work Schedule and Location

This is an on-site HR Co-op position for a term of approximately four (4) months, based at Spirit of Math Headquarters located at 49 Gervais Drive, Toronto, Ontario.
