The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario invites applications for a full or part time locum position in Anatomical Pathology. The division handles between 4,200-4,500 surgical specimens. There are between 90-100 autopsies a year.
The division is located in a modern facility with a state-of-the-art laboratory. The regionalization of pediatric pathology services for the entire catchment area of Eastern Ontario offers exciting opportunities for clinical and academic work originating from the region.
For Full time locum, the successful candidate will share in the pediatric surgical pathology, gastrointestinal and placental pathology with the other 2 full-time pediatric and perinatal pathologists.
For part-time weekend on call locum, the successful locum candidate will provide weekend on-call coverage from Friday at 4:00 PM until Monday at 8:00 AM, working collaboratively alongside a senior technologist who will be available to assist throughout the assignment. This position offers excellent operational support to ensure seamless continuity of care, with the organization open to arranging flexible scheduling terms on an individual basis to accommodate the selected professional.
Salary: $7,775.00/week or $2,200.00/weekend on call
Basic Requirements
The candidate must hold an MD degree, appropriate certification in a relevant field of pediatric and perinatal pathology and must be licensed in the province of Ontario.
As a pre-condition of contract, all new CHEO/EORLA employees or contractors will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.
