The Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy invites applications for a Course Developer for JSGS 826 – Human Resources Management in Health Care. The successful applicant will be responsible for the design, development, and preparation of a fully online, asynchronous graduate‑level course, suitable for delivery within JSGS health‑related programs (e.g., Master of Health Administration and related certificates).

The Course Developer will work collaboratively with an instructional designer from the University of Regina’s Centre for Continuing Education to ensure the course meets academic standards, accessibility requirements, and best practices in online graduate education. Course content is expected to remain current and reusable for a period of three to five years.

The Course Developer will:

  • Design a complete online course structure, including:
    • Learning outcomes aligned with JSGS program objectives
    • Weekly or modular content outlines
    • Instructional materials (e.g., readings, lecture notes, recorded presentations)
  • Develop all required course components, including:
    • Assessments (e.g., assignments, case analyses, discussion activities, evaluations)
    • Rubrics and grading criteria
    • Student learning activities appropriate for asynchronous delivery
  • Collaborate regularly with an instructional designer to:
    • Apply online pedagogy and accessibility standards
    • Ensure clarity, engagement, and consistency of course materials
  • Ensure course content reflects:
    • Current research, policy, and practice in health human resources management
    • Canadian public‑sector and health‑system contexts
    • Equity, diversity, reconciliation, and ethical considerations
  • Deliver finalized course materials according to agreed development timelines

Position Requirements

Required:

  • A Master’s degree in public administration, public policy, health administration, human resources management, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated subject‑matter expertise in human resources management and/or health‑sector management

Preferred:

  • A PhD or terminal degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in the health sector, public service, or public‑sector HR
  • Prior experience teaching or developing graduate‑level or online courses
