Engagement Lead - CMMS (ID#5476)
About the role
New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking an experienced Senior Engagement Lead to lead a strategic enterprise asset management (EAM) and computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) planning engagement for a large public sector organization.
This is a senior advisory consulting role focused on assessing the client's current facilities maintenance and asset management environment, defining future-state business and technology requirements, evaluating leading CMMS platforms, developing executive recommendations, and preparing the organization for a future enterprise CMMS implementation.
The successful consultant will serve as the primary engagement lead, working closely with executive leadership, business stakeholders, technical teams, architects, and subject matter experts while coordinating support from a multidisciplinary consulting team. This is not an implementation role. The engagement focuses on strategy, assessment, planning, business case development, roadmap creation, and procurement readiness.
The majority of the work may be completed remotely, with periodic travel to the Greater Vancouver area required for executive meetings, stakeholder workshops, site visits, and key project activities.
Responsibilities: Lead a Phase 0 enterprise assessment and strategic planning engagement for a large CMMS modernization initiative. Facilitate executive interviews, stakeholder workshops, and current-state assessment sessions. Assess existing business processes, operational workflows, governance, data, reporting, integrations, and technology architecture. Lead future-state business, operational, and technology planning activities. Develop enterprise business requirements, target operating models, and implementation roadmaps. Evaluate leading CMMS/EAM platforms, including IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS), Microsoft Dynamics 365-based solutions, and other enterprise platforms. Lead solution evaluations, business case development, ROI and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis. Develop executive-level recommendations supporting future procurement and implementation planning. Coordinate multidisciplinary consulting resources including business analysts, solution architects, data specialists, and integration consultants. Establish project governance, executive reporting, risk management, and stakeholder communications throughout the engagement. Present findings and recommendations to senior executives and steering committees.
Requirements: 15+ years of consulting experience leading complex enterprise business or technology transformation initiatives. Demonstrated experience leading strategic assessment, current-state analysis, future-state design, roadmap development, and business case engagements. Experience leading enterprise CMMS, Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), facilities management, or asset management transformation initiatives. Strong understanding of facilities maintenance operations, asset lifecycle management, preventive maintenance, work order management, inventory management, and related business processes. Experience evaluating enterprise software solutions and supporting technology selection and procurement initiatives. Experience developing executive business cases, investment recommendations, implementation roadmaps, and governance models. Experience facilitating executive workshops and presenting recommendations to senior leadership. Excellent stakeholder management and consulting skills. Experience leading multidisciplinary consulting teams. Experience working with large public sector organizations or healthcare organizations is considered a significant asset. Experience with IBM Maximo, Maximo Application Suite (MAS), Microsoft Dynamics 365, or comparable Enterprise Asset Management platforms is highly desirable. Experience with enterprise data assessment, migration planning, enterprise architecture, or systems integration is considered an asset. Must be able to travel periodically to the Greater Vancouver area for project activities.
