Our Horizon location is seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to support our diverse operations. This is temporary contract, projected to end October 2026, with possibility of extension. The shift schedule is a 7 day in/out rotation. Travel will be provided by EFC from either Calgary or Edmonton to Horizon.
Description:
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating air and ground transportation operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable movement of people and resources. The Logistics Coordinator will monitor schedules, ensuring contractor compliance with transportation programs, and working closely to support effective planning and logistics. The position also focuses on identifying operational issues, implementing improvements, and supporting overall service delivery. This role is seconded to Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL), reporting directly to the Lead, Transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with air carriers, aerodrome(s) and ground transportation operators to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Coordinate the compliance of contractor performance and adherence to the use of the CNRL Oil Sands Charter Transportation programs.
- Responsible for monitoring flight and bus schedules for optimizing usage based on demand.
- Identify problem areas and recommend and implement corrective actions.
- Establish and maintain a working relationship with stakeholders, ensuring operational requirements are being met
- Maintain a good understanding of the camp accommodations processes and the direct impact it has on scheduling.
- Liaise with contractors, coordinators, accommodations, and administrators to ensure proper scheduling and logistics.
- Meet complex business needs, as well as determine and recommend solutions.
- Consider continual improvement strategy as a key aspect of operations.
- Promote and uphold a safe work environment by following and enforcing safety procedures, promptly reporting and escalating injuries, illnesses, and hazards, and ensuring the availability and proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.
- Ensure exceptional, courteous, and respectful customer service.
- Comply with and participate in the Company’s Health & Safety and Quality programs and initiatives.
- Perform any other duties as required.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Post-secondary training in logistics or administration is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in airline or logistics operations or travel industry experience is required.
- Demonstrated understanding of travel and transportation operations, including airline, busing, or logistics environments, with experience in route and gauge planning supported by strong data integrity, forecasting, budgeting, and planning skills.
- Familiarity or experience with data integrity, forecasting, budgeting and planning.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong quantitative and critical thinking skills.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and clean Driver’s Abstract. No restrictions permitted.
- Able to meet all required pre-employment and site access screening including, but not limited to, Common Safety Orientation (CSO) course, Horizon Site Contractor Orientation and Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol test.
