Dougall Media, Thunder Bay’s only locally owned broadcast and multimedia company, has an opening within our digital operations team for a Digital Operations & Platform Management Intern.

The Digital Operations & Platform Management Intern will play an emerging role in supporting the organization’s growing digital advertising and publishing operations. This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, tech-savvy, and interested in developing expertise across multiple digital platforms.

Responsibilities Include:

Platform Management & Execution

  • Support the setup, trafficking, and optimization of digital campaigns across platforms including Village Media, StackAdapt, Illumin, and Google Display & Performance Max and YouTube, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client objectives.
  • Preparing reports on campaigning performance.

Team Coordination

  • Assist in managing day-to-day workflow for Digital Traffic Coordinators, including quality control, and ensuring campaigns are launched and monitored on schedule.

Platform Expertise Development

  • Actively build knowledge and become a go-to internal resource for platform capabilities, best practices, and troubleshooting, with ongoing exposure to Meta Ads Manager and Mailchimp.

Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor campaign performance, compile reports, and identify trends or optimization opportunities to improve results and inform future campaign strategies.
  • Assist in preparing standardized reporting inputs for dashboards and recurring campaign summaries.

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Help develop and refine internal processes, checklists, and documentation to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and standardize workflows across digital platforms.

Platform Management & Execution

  • Campaign intake validation such as confirming creative spec, targeting parameters budgets and tracking.
  • Maintaining organized detailed campaign naming conventions.
  • Ensure campaign creative assets are saved in the content management system, by client.
  • Verification of creative specifications, click-throughs, pixel implementation status and landing page readiness prior to campaign activities.
  • Other duties as assigned related to the team objectives.

Requirements for this position:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Marketing, Business, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new tools, platforms, and processes in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting to evolving technologies and workflows.
  • Exposure to or working knowledge of at least one digital marketing or publishing platform such as StackAdapt, Illumin, Google Display & Video 360, Meta Ads Manager, Mailchimp, or a CMS such as Village Media is considered an asset.
  • Strong comfort working across multiple digital systems simultaneously, with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, campaign setup, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and support coordination of workflows.
  • Basic understanding of digital performance metrics (e.g., impressions, CTR, conversions) and a willingness to learn how to interpret data to support campaign optimization.
