About the role
Location: Remote Employment Type: Contractor Compensation: This is a freelance/contract-based role with compensation dependent on experience, availability, and scope of work. Expected compensation is project-based structure range from $500-$1,200. As an independent contractor, you’ll invoice the company on an agreed-upon payment schedule. Final compensation structure, timelines, and deliverables will be outlined in the contractor agreement. Please note this is not an employee position and therefore does not include benefits, vacation pay, or other employee entitlements. Contractors are responsible for managing their own taxes, insurance, and operating expenses unless otherwise specified.

Right now, his content focuses on inspiring and teaching beginners/intermediates in the gym how to properly lift and eat to build muscle and lose fat as effectively as possible. The Role Are you a creative and strategic scriptwriter with a passion for turning complex topics into simple, compelling, and engaging narratives? As a Youtube Scriptwriter for Jeremy Ethier’s YouTube channel, you’ll play a key role in bringing our mission to life by transforming research and interview materials into captivating, easy-to-understand scripts. Your primary responsibility will be to take research from a given topic and craft ~2000 to 4000-word long-form YouTube scripts that deliver educational content in a fun, accessible, and entertaining way. You'll work closely with Jeremy and our content team, who will provide the research for each topic, leaving you to focus on what you do best: creating engaging stories, developing unique hooks, and simplifying complex ideas into frameworks that resonate with our audience. Additionally, sometimes you’ll work with interview transcripts, where you'll need to sift through the content and pull out the most impactful quotes to integrate into your scripts. If you have experience writing long-form YouTube scripts or direct response copy, and you have a knack for producing thought-provoking content that engages viewers, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities Ability To Match Jeremy’s Tone & Voice Informative & Evidence-Based – He relies heavily on research, studies, and data to support his points, making his writing authoritative. Straightforward & Practical – He avoids unnecessary jargon and explains complex concepts in simple terms, making his advice actionable. Professional Yet Approachable And Fun – While his content is backed by science, he maintains a conversational tone that feels relatable, not overly academic - bringing in humor when appropriate to help make learning fun. Personable - He communicates ideas with personal/relatable examples to make them easier to digest, and showcase how this science applies in the real world and in his experience. Deliverables Write 1-2 long-form YouTube scripts per month (approximately 2,000–4,000 words each). Transform provided research into compelling, curiosity-driven narratives that balance scientific accuracy with engaging storytelling and high viewer retention. Review participant vlog footage and expert interviews, identifying compelling moments and seamlessly incorporating relevant quotes into the script to strengthen the narrative, support key points, and enhance viewer engagement. Structure scripts with viewer retention in mind, balancing educational depth with engaging storytelling and pacing.
Qualifications Proven experience writing long-form YouTube scripts (2,000–4,000 words) or direct response copy. Strong understanding of YouTube storytelling, audience retention, pacing, and viewer psychology. Excellent ability to transform complex, research-heavy topics into engaging, easy-to-understand content. Solid fitness knowledge, particularly in evidence-based training, nutrition, muscle building, and fat loss. Ability to write in an informative, evidence-based style while keeping content conversational and entertaining. Experience working from research documents and interview transcripts, extracting the most compelling insights and quotes. Exceptional English writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Bonus points Experience writing for large YouTube channels or creator brands. Background in fitness, kinesiology, exercise science, nutrition, or a related field.
