MARKETING POSITION – FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT Marketing Manager Join the hardworking and dedicated team delivering exciting arts and culture programs and activities to our community and beyond. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing Manager builds, manages and supports the internal communications and external marketing for the Aurora Cultural Centre. This full-time position requires the successful candidate to be available Monday – Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. The successful candidate will have proven leadership qualities and vision for leading a team to excellence and achievement of goals in the department. The candidate will have extensive experience in arts marketing in at least one of the disciplines of the Aurora Cultural Centre; performing arts, galleries, and/or arts education, be current in industry practices, well rounded in supporting artistic endeavours, be a generous and compassionate team member, be successful project management, and experience reporting return on investment of marketing initiatives. Context and Summary Guided by the Aurora Cultural Centre’s (ACC’s) new Strategic Plan and Vision to be a leading Cultural Centre and Artistic Hub, the ACC’s Marketing Department supports the four main pillars of the Aurora Cultural Centre: Galleries, Education, Performing Arts and Development. The Marketing Manager and their department are principally responsible to generate revenues for the Centre and to manage its branding, marketing, communications and advertising functions, through the implementation of an annual and pillar specific marketing plans. As with all positions at the Centre, the Marketing Manager will be both flexible and highly adaptable in a fast-moving, fast changing work environment. This Manager will have excellent project management and customer service skills. As this position supervises a small Marketing Team, the Marketing Manager will be fully responsible to effectively lead the Team, especially the accountability for roles and outcomes identified for the department. This position will require significant multi-tasking skills and the ability to work closely with pillar managers and staff on a variety of projects. Direct Reports · Digital Services Specialist · Marketing and Social Media Coordinator · Contractors who serve the department, especially the ACC’s Agency of Record Primary Responsibilities · Manage the branding, marketing, communications and advertising functions of the ACC. · Recruit, lead, coach and mentor the marketing, communications and advertising team, including internal staff and outside contractors. · Manage the implementation of the relevant sections of the ACC Strategic Plan as directed by the Executive Director. · Develop and prepare the annual and pillar specific marketing, communications and advertising plans for the ACC, and manage their implementation. · Act as the ACC’s Creative Director during the implementation of these plans. · Build and protect the reputation of the organization through careful use of marketing language, materials and tools. · Manage customer service responses to patron concerns and complaints as needed · Prepare, manage and track the marketing budget within approved limits. Approve and track spending commitments as they are made. · Manage the ACC’s social media platforms, strategies and policies. · Manage and improve the ACC website and its optimization on an ongoing basis. · Collaborate with the Town of Aurora on the Town’s website and recommend improvements that impact sales revenues, conversions, and overall communications to the community. · Manage the delivery of contracted out services by third party vendors. · Oversee the relationships and purchase of advertising with media · Build new strategic partnerships with media partners that benefit the ACC and strategic vision of the organisation. · Develop and foster relationships with ACC stakeholders and other strategic partners. · Act as key staff lead on the Outreach Committee of the Board. o Prepare the Annual Outreach Plan with the Committee Chair o Activate and inspire the Committee in tasks that broaden capacity of the Marketing and Development Departments o Provide support and leads for Development through Outreach activities · Prepare and manage daily, weekly, and monthly revenue reports and dashboards · Manage Monday.com project management software for the Marketing Department · Prepare monthly progress reports for the Executive Director, including reporting KPIs and other key metrics. · Serve as a member of the senior management team · Support the Executive Director and management team on other projects and priorities. Education • Post-secondary university degree in Communications, which included training in Advertising, Digital Marketing and Public Relations. • Post-secondary degree Arts Management an asset Experience · Minimum of 15 years of prior experience in positions either directly or indirectly relevant to the position. · Experience reporting on and decision making from ROI reports internal sources and external vendors · Human resource skills in leading a team Skills We recognize that the applicant may not have all of these skills upon application.
