JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties:

Works as part of the asset information support team to provide end-user support for Stations/Lines asset and work management information and reporting systems: (a) provides business process, functional and technical application support to users; (b) investigates application support issues in various Stations/Lines facilities. On-site visits will be required to identify and mitigate problems; (c) identifies training needs in relation to Stations/Lines business, functional and technical procedures; assists in developing training materials, and assists in the delivery of training as required; (d) provides business and user support for the reporting processes associated with the various asset information applications; (e) provides information to first and third tier application support staff in Business Analyst Support and contractors in the resolution of system problems; (f) utilizes problem tracking software to manage application issues; and (g) assists the Stations/Lines business and technical owners with end-user communications.

Works with application development staff and participates in the development, user acceptance testing and implementation of new or revised systems or system components and procedures relating to asset and work management functions, including: (a) defining requirements and providing application development staff with input for the design of new or revised systems or system components, policies, and procedures, project development including researching, compiling, interpreting, assembling and presenting data; (b) piloting and/or testing new systems, system components, and component revisions prior to implementation and identifying incompatibilities with related components or inconsistencies and problems with relation to Stations/Lines, procedures and specifications; (c) writing new or revised procedures or instructions to explain changes or update manuals for Stations/Lines staff; (d) reviewing additions/revisions to system in related departments to assess effect on Stations/Lines applications; (e) instructing in the applications of new or revised system or system components and procedures; participating in the initial training of all Stations/Lines staff affected by the changes; (f) revising or developing new clerical procedures, input/output forms, edit checks, security controls and design of terminal screen to complement new and changed system and system components; (g) providing an interface between Stations/ Lines staff and computer systems analysts; (h) identifying and recommending interfaces between PC and system files to manipulate data and create unique databases and/or files; (i) visiting Stations/Lines locations to analyze user’s individual or area needs, obtain user feedback on applications designs and operation as well as new data base and office systems; recommending and/or implementing enhancements/action plans as required.

Monitors efficiency of Stations/Lines applications and related systems to ensure adherence to corporate policy, regulatory and corporate accounting requirements, Strategic and Key Business Units requirements including: (a) reviewing system output and procedures to identify inconsistencies and recommend changes; (b) providing audit reports as required to ensure consistency and integrity of data bases is maintained; (c) participating as a member of a task team to coordinate and facilitate changes and enhancements to the applications; and (d) participating with internal departments to ensure Stations/Lines requirements are met..

Coordinates Stations/Lines policies and standards with work management application: (a) Implements and revises maintenance programs within work management system for Stations/Lines equipment; (b) Coordinates policy and standard structure.

Provides guidance to Stations/Lines staff by: (a) developing and conducting informal meetings for Stations/Lines personnel throughout the province, assist in implementing system changes, provide and encourage new ideas and feedback on systems; (b) promoting the networking of Administration Clerks and use of common procedures.

Answers inquiries from both within and outside Stations/Lines regarding asset and work management applications.

Performs a variety of duties relating to Stations/Lines applications including: (a) preparing ad hoc maintenance scheduling and management decision support reports as required; (b) primary field user contact and support for applications reports, working in liaison with Telus, Fujitsu and other outside suppliers of services; (c) proactively develops the functional and technical understanding of Stations/Lines applications amongst other Stations/Lines staff; and (d) problem testing and fault reporting documentation.

Performs duties of a minor nature relating to the above duties which do not affect the rating of the job.
Qualifications:

Diploma of Technology from an Institute of Technology in Computer Systems; and two (2) years of experience analyzing large and complex datasets. OR
-
Four (4) years of equivalent work experience that includes experience working with asset information and work management systems, budgeting, processes and reporting systems including providing front line support, user training and participation in system development projects. Of the four (4) years of experience, two (2) years of experience must include working with work management systems.

This position involves high-volume data entry and processing of maintenance programs in support of our Asset Management stakeholders, across multiple systems and applications. Candidates should be comfortable performing detailed, repetitive work with a high degree of accuracy.

This role supports Stations assets and maintenance programs, with a primary focus on maintaining and updating system data.

Strong attention to detail is essential, as accuracy in data entry and validation directly impacts operational performance.

Experience with SAP (GUI and FIORI) is a strong asset, particularly for data input, updates, and system navigation.

This is a 6-month full-time temporary (FTT) position.

The role is currently based at Edmonds headquarters (Burnaby). Candidates from other headquarters locations may be considered and permitted to remain at their location, subject to operational needs, travel requirements, costs, and workspace availability.

The role may involve occasional travel across the province, including overnight stays for periods of up to one week.
