About the role
OVERVIEW The Human Resources Generalist supports employees and managers across the U.S. and Canada, with a primary focus on Canada. Reporting to the Sr. HR Manager (North America), this role manages the full employee lifecycle, including responding to HR inquiries, delivering manager training, addressing employee relations matters, and supporting immigration processes. With a strong focus on employee relations and compliance in Canada, while this role operates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while supporting core HR operations. The HR Generalist partners closely with the broader HR team to execute global initiatives and drive region-specific process improvements.

DESCRIPTION Partner with managers to address employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, performance management, disciplinary actions, and addressing general workplace concerns while ensuring proper documentation and compliance Build strong relationships with employees and managers to foster a positive and compliant work environment Ensure compliance with Canadian federal and provincial employment standards Maintain up-to-date knowledge of province-specific regulations and apply them appropriately Support policy creation and updates in line with evolving legislation Assist with audits, reporting, and internal compliance reviews Partner with payroll and benefits teams to support accurate and timely processing Act as a primar point of contact for employee questions including questions related to pay and benefits Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and vendor coordination Support employee lifecycle, including onboarding, job changes, and offboarding processes Provide administrative support for immigration processes (e.g., work permits, documentation) in partnership with external counsel Ensure data accuracy within HR systems Review HR processes and identify opportunities for improvement, executing new, efficient, scalable processes where applicable Support HR training initiatives and development of HR resources and documentation Maintain a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion in handling sensitive employee matters Perform other special projects or duties as required
REQUIRED SKILLS Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with employees and management Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French High level of attention to detail with strong ownership and accountability Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Strong Excel required) Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining excellent service Strong judgment and ability to manage sensitive and complex employee situations High level of discretion and professionalism in all matters
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS 3–5+ years of HR Generalist experience, with strong focus on employee relations and compliance Experience supporting multiple Canadian provinces preferred Multi-state work experience and knowledgeable in employment laws in the U.S Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday) preferred
