Please Note: This is a temporary position, ending on or before June 25, 2027, with the possibility of extension.
NAIT's Parts Technician program has two distinct specializations. Parts will train students to identify, dispense and manage parts inventories, which may include automotive, heavy duty, farm implement, industrial, recreational vehicle, jobber, plumbing or electrical. While material will train students in the movement of materials in a wide variety of industries, including agricultural, forestry, manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, transportation and wholesale/retail.
The successful candidate for this role will be an energetic, empathetic, and student focused instructor with a demonstrated commitment to motivating learners and supporting academic achievement. They will bring strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, along with proven experience delivering adult education in a postsecondary or skills-based learning environment. Proficiency with a variety of computer programs and systems, as well as the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, is essential.
The successful candidate will also possess solid and relevant industry experience and will be committed to championing student success through academic excellence. Responsibilities include curriculum development and instructional delivery; assessment, evaluation, and maintenance of student progress and academic records; and active participation in student support services and program operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory and industry setting Participate in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records Provide ongoing coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention and respond to student issues Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues and industry partners Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities
Strong ability to collaborate as a team player, contributing positively as a member of an academic team Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a respectful, supportive, and effective approach in interactions with faculty, staff, and students. Ability to manage competing priorities and support multiple tasks in a fast-paced academic environment. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts. Strong technical knowledge
Qualifications
High School Diploma Completion of Journeyperson ticket or provincial equivalent including Inter-Provincial Red Seal required Minimum 5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson ticket. Teaching experience an asset

Classification – Instructor
This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement.
Remuneration: Refer to salary range noted on this posting, plus a comprehensive benefits package. Will commensurate with education and experience. Note: starting salary for new instructor hires average mid-range based on education and experience.
The compensation range for this job posting is : $69,189.78 - $120,361.23
